Nice beach! We went last weekend of August and it was really crowded. People were respectfully maintaining as much distance as possible though due to Covid. The waves were nice and the sand is good for sand castles. The flies weren’t bad when we went which was good! This was our first time at this park so we might have missed it if there is one but we couldn’t find any picnic areas outside the little food court they have. Pricing isn’t bad for entrance 10 per car in state And 20 out of state. Also the park was full by 11 and they don’t let folks in if it reaches capacity due to Covid. Sent

Hidden gem alert!!’ Beautiful beaches. Relaxing beach hiking!!! Tip: drive until you can’t drive anymore (unless you have a permit to drive on the beach) park and hike to the rocks. You will have a beautiful view of Barnegat Light house. There are restrooms with flush toilets (very clean). No outdoor showers to rinse off. You can fish. Saw young kids catching crabs with nets. Look for shells. You can even have a bonfire very lovely state park. Lots of security too. 5 per car for new Jereey resident 10 for out of state.
First time visitor and it’s one of the best beaches I’ve been to. It’s really clean, not too crowded on a Tuesday afternoon, and easy to find parking. The only down side was that there were VERY aggressive flies, but from what I’ve heard it’s not always like that. We were also warned upon entering so good that you’re given a heads up. Bathrooms were ok. Will be visiting again with hopefully less or no flies there!
The best state park in NJ. Great beaches, bay side has nice little hiking trails and nature spots. Wonderfully kayaking too.
Great shoal area on bayside to boat and hang out. Nice sandy bottom, shallow water, easy to play water games and keep cool. Rustic facilities on shore. Further north on beach side are modern bath houses and restrooms with nature center. Lifeguard at this area, other beach areas are swim at your own risk. Overall, great beach area with something for everyone.
