I was ready to give up on physical therapy until I was referred to Dr. Jowers. I had been dealing with my injury for over a year and was very frustrated with my previous clinic (physical therapist gave me a 20 minute massage then passed me off to a PT tech for the rest of my session). Don't settle for that kind of care! When I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Jowers I was refreshed to have his undivided attention for my whole session. He took the time to understand my injury and medical condition, performed the proper assessments, and made sure I understood what exercises to do and why. I never felt rushed to get through a session. He is also exceptionally thorough. He never dismissed any of my questions and took extra time to check out ailments when I mentioned them. Dr. Jowers goes above and beyond, he takes the time to reach out and check in between sessions. Most importantly - I've made leaps and bounds towards recovery with his programming! I am very happy under his care

We really enjoy working with Jake- both a 20 year-old son (ultimate frisbee) and 12 year-old daughter (synchronized skating) have benefitted from his enthusiasm and professional knowledge about training and nutrition.
Dr. Liz Wheeler and Launch are incredible! My husband and I have been working with Dr. Liz for more than 7 years, before she opened Launch. She has served as our fitness trainer but really does much more since she holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy and has expertise in many areas. She devised an individualized program for us which changes as we gain strength and competency. I'm in my late 60's and bone density is an issue for me. As a result of my weight bearing exercise program, I have reversed a trend of bone loss. I have also worked with one of Dr. Liz's excellent physical therapists after having meniscus tear surgery. Her PT plan enabled me to gain strength and return to my exercise program. I've admired the other Launch trainers when they work with middle and high school sports teams. They very skillfully encourage these kids individually while developing the team as a whole. The facility is state of the art and offers a wide range of services beyond what I've reviewed here. And it is an easy drive from NW DC. Launch deserves more than 5 stars!

I have trained at many gym membership facilities and worked with various fitness trainers. Although I thought I was doing something to improve my health and strength, I was actually hurting my body. It wasn't until I started working with Dr. Liz Wheeler and her staff for strength training and cardio using specialized bikes exclusive to Launch, that I noticed not only a huge improvement in strength and energy, but also my blood work improved drastically. Through the years, I have also noticed the improved progress of other clients. This is a facility like no other. Don't just call for information, make an appointment. You will experience the difference.
Liz and her team are top notch professionals. I have been with Liz since 2008 and she worked miracles on my knees. After over a decade of chronic knee pain it was gone in 3 sessions. Check out their website. They train professionals and olympians....but, they treat everyone as though they were a top level athlete. If you are serious about your body, health, mind and being your best, there is no place else I would recommend!
I will start off by saying that if I could give Launch 10 stars I would. I have been seeing Liz Wheeler, Founder and Doctor of Physical Therapy for approximately 7 years. I single handedly give her credit for keeping me as functional and as active as I am now. I was a nurse for 28 years and between that and genetics I have a bad back and recently had both of my knees replaced. First the back. Liz has been working with my back for all 7 of those years. She is a GOD SEND. I can't say much more than that. I have gone to her crying in pain, and I have a great pain threshold and she has helped me. You are with her for usually an hour and for that hour you are her sole focus, but I really saw the uniqueness in her physical therapy when it came to my knee replacements. For the first replacement I used the therapist in the home that the hospital had recommended and it was horrible. Tremendous pain every time she came. With the second knee I had Liz come to my house. The difference was NIGHT AND DAY. Liz worked with my knee and I never had any pain. She has since worked with both of my knees and they can bend as much as the artificial appliance will allow. About 4 months ago I started doing one of their FIT WOMEN classes once a week. The other day I actually said to my husband that I feel like I am in the best shape that I have been in for probably 10 years. Not too shabby for a 54 year old! They also have trainers working with kids of all ages and various sports teams. It is impressive to watch them work with the kids. I would HIGHLY recommend Launch and all of their team for therapy, massage, training and or fitness. You absolutely can not go wrong.
