This was a second year of going to Terry Peak with a group of friends. We always enjoy our time here and will plan to return next year. However, this year was extremely frustrating when buying lift tickets, equipment rentals, and lessons. We called earlier in the year to inquire about purchasing ski school in advance and were told we couldn't, but come to find out, you could have reserved a spot for snow puppies. We got to the mountain at 7:30, stood in line for over 2 hours to find out snow puppies was full and filled up \awhile ago.\ No sign is posted suggesting this. Fortunately we came the next day at 7:00 and were able to get our daughter and her friend signed up. I ended up having one of our children wait in the general line and one in the equipment line in order to speed up the process. We also called towards the end of the day prior and were told you cannot buy lift tickets and equipment rentals until the day of, which is not entirely true. You can purchase tickets for the following day after 2:45, but cannot get rentals until the day of. We still would have had to wait in line, so wouldn't have been overly helpful. Aside from the frustrating start, the kids loved it. Terry Peak, I would suggest moving towards online options in buying tickets, rentals, and lessons. It would also be nice if you could start completing paper work while in line in order to speed things up.

Spent last two days of December skiing Terry Peak. Terry Peak received 20 inches of snow the day before we arrived, and had gotten 30 inches a few weeks before that, Almost all of the runs were open. Great place to ski, this resort is a real bargain compared to the prices you pay at a large Colorado resort. We have been coming here from Missouri each year for the last 5 years to ski. We will be coming back again next year.
We love coming to Terry Peak, both Stewart Lodge and Dark Horse Saloon, are welcoming, family friendly, and reasonably priced. We try to visit three or four times a year, but monitoring snow conditions are the determining factor, and the reason for 4 out of 5 stars. The prices for rentals, lift tickets, and food and drink are priced acceptably. You're going to a ski resort, things are going to cost money, however, our family feels that the cost is on par with the quality of resort. The gift shop is cheap and the inevitable forgotten accouterments are easily replaced, i.e. Gyro brand goggles are 40! Visit during the week; like all ski areas, when the snow is good, the crowds are big. The resort does a good job of grooming runs, but leave a few black and blue runs in powder after big snows.
The food from the food truck out back was great despite the insanely long line at lunch time. My husband enjoyed skiing and I had a cozy place to read.
Beautiful and lots of fun! Great for beginners and more experienced.
