I have 2 kids with the same noncustodial father, owed almost 23,000 in arrears. All that arrearage was accumulated on my original case which was cancelled at one point and restarted at a later date. In every system (clerks office, state, fed) it shows I’m owed 0.00 arrears because my original case wasn’t merged/consolidated with the original case and reported properly to those other offices. Asked them to merge the cases over a year ago and requested a meeting with head prosecutor as being the same kids and same father it never should’ve been set up or left separately from the first case in the first place. Clerks office was baffled by this and said it’s a simple fix to merge them but prosecutor has to do it. Case numbers are off by one digit at the end. Never got fixed, never got merged/consolidated with eachother. I finally cancelled current support order because it was pointless and caused more problems than not (hence the 23k arrears) but I want the arrears owed reported properly so whatever can be intercepted, will be. Which they’ll take all of because my case isn’t fixed in the tanf system as they were intercepting all support for tanf that I’m not even on and only received for 4 months in 2019. Everyone I call refers me back to this prosecutor office who says “they don’t know anything about the issues I’m having” and tells me to call tanf, then tanf tells me to call prosecutor. Shouldn’t have to get a lawyer to straighten this out but if that’s what it takes, whatever. I’ll try to recoup the unnecessary lawyer fees from the county I guess since it’s them not handling my case properly. Can’t even get a state support payment debit card (way2go card) as they say I’m not owed any support and must not have a support case, seriously?! 23,000 arrears says otherwise doesn’t it?

My ex, while in jail for assaulting me and other charges, sent me copies of the no contact order FROM jail and called me from the jail phone 20 times a day. I was transferred to about 5 people trying to report it and they said all they could do is block my number from being dialed from jail- nothing about punishing him for breaking the law. I moved across the country, changed all contact activity, and he's still found me. I told them and they've done nothing, and he was on parole and on meth. I'm so mad at what a joke this system is. Thanks for protecting me. I feel super safe that my drugged up ex isn't going to find me after hacking my phone. I'm really let down by this system and feel the need to somehow fix it. It's not okay. New phone, email, number, email, blocking him on all social media, not forwarding mail... you should do something.

This prosecutors office really needs to take domestic violence more serious. Just had a family member report being abused, she still has the black eye from the last incident. This is the 4th black eye in 5 months. We finally convinced her to call the police and report it last week. Still haven't heard ANYTHING from the prosecutors office. Very disappointed in the Boone County prosecutors office and very concerned about domestic violence victims in this county.
