This wasn’t a very safe or enjoyable ride to be honest - the trail was totally overgrown and involved bushwhacking on horseback. The tack (ie the bridle, saddle and girth) were also decrepit and unsafe such that my stirrup leather and my girth leathers both tore in half at a gallop while my horse was bucking. I am experienced enough to have landed more or less on my feet but a less experienced rider could have been badly injured. I really want to support farms that are struggling and this is clearly one (the barn is condemned as the roof is caving in) but I am afraid I can’t rate this as a safe or enjoyable experience.

Had a great time at Maintree Farm last Saturday. I found Ken to be friendly, polite and very accommodating. The horses were well groomed and pleasant to ride. I look forward towards another tour in the future.
My boys 8 and 6 had a great lesson today here, they learned how to balance, control horses and trot. For new riders who wanted to see what it's like, this farm was very welcoming.
Great experience on a family trail ride.
