Great place for my kids to swim. Very well trained and gentle with my kids.

I have 2 children enrolled in weekly swim classes at Swim Kids. I agree with other reviewers that the quality of instruction varies. There are enough class times for each level with the coaches that I adore, that I’ve never had a problem finding a day and time that works for us. Overall, we have had a positive experience with Swim Kids Leesburg. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly.

We pay 20 per 30 min lesson, however my child is often not even in the water until 5-10 minutes after class start time. It's pretty common for him to spend less than 10 minutes actually swimming, while the rest of the time is spent sitting or hanging on to the wall. The instructors change frequently so they aren't familiar to your child or with their abilities. The instructors also don't seem very experienced with swimming instruction in general, as least the ones we've had lately. They crowd four children into one small lane so they are always running into each other. The children infrequently achieve new skills in the online portal, which either means they aren't being taught much or no one is bothering to record it - so not good either way. It's just not a great value for your money in my opinion. Try swimming classes at Ida Lee Rec Center instead. The kids get SO much more real swimming experience for 8 per class. My barely 4 year old can swim the length of a lap pool alone based on his lessons at Ida Lee. On a positive note - the baby classes at Swim Kids are fine, and Blake and Christopher are good instructors. I'd recommend baby classes there and then switch your older child (2) to lessons somewhere else if you really want them to learn how to swim.

I'll start with a positive. I enrolled my daughter in a swim camp this week. It was our first experience with Swim Kids. I couldn't be more impressed with the coaches and the instruction she's getting. Here's where it takes a turn...Unfortunately after 3 days of camp, she developed a raging ear infection and was given antibiotics, ear drops and instructed by her Dr. to stay out of the pool for 2 days. I contacted Swim Kids to see if they'd work with me on allowing us to make-up the final 2 days of her camp since we had to miss them due to a medical issue. They were unwilling to allow us to make-up the classes. Their only offer was to credit me back for the 2 missed days IF I purchased another full week of camp. I'm currently waiting on a call back from "the manager". Hoping she/he can be a little more reasonable and I'd be happy to update my review. Until then...2 stars, both for the fantastic instruction. If not for that it would be 0 stars.

The school is totally fine if you don't lose track of the reason why you're there - to get your child comfortable with being in the pool and learn general swimming skills. These are not private lessons designed to groom the next US Olympic Team star. Take the 30 minutes to give your kid some thumbs up or read a book, but don't expect more than it is and you won't be disappointed.

Please be careful choosing your kids swim program. After a near drowning incident with my 3 year old son here, I dug further into the website and found their advertising recruiting new teachers - they require no experience either with swimming or teaching. My son was in a class of two and the teacher turned her back during which my son slipped off the step. I was in the waiting area holding my baby, and had to go in and rescue him. While the manager listened to our story, refunded our money, and promised that the girl would go back through training, it still didn't feel like enough. Please be careful here!

We enrolled both of our kids at Swimkids and initially enjoyed the overall experience. After a year or so, management changed and I noticed a drastic change. Less communication and less enthusiasm by the swim coaches and site managers. We weren’t thrilled but hung in there until an incident that prompted our quick cancellation. At one lesson the site manager imitated and mocked my son who was trying to learn a new skill. My son who is six years old was literally made fun by an adult who felt the need to put on a show poolside.. I was shocked and saddened by the manager’s actions. When we cancelled I wrote in our exit form about our experience with the site manager and how insensitive and immature it was. To this day, no one from Swimkids has contacted me to discuss. My advice is to go elsewhere for swim lessons in the Leesburg VA area.
