When I lost my daughter. The Caring Place refused to take myself and three other children as clients because there was another family member who was temporarily staying with us that was in AA. There were no other people in the household that had any type of habits. They stipulated that the person needed to be out of the house for a certain amt of time befor they would take us on, completely eclipsing the critical grief stages immediately after her death. They absolutely refused us. The Caring Place, left my children broken and absolutely turned their back on them and me, her mother. That is not caring at all.

This place is phenomenal, the work they do here, the staff, the participants...all wonderful. It's both sad and heartwarming seeing the memory quilts...if you need a place for a grieving child this is it. Highmark is doing a tremendous thing by having this place and the services they offer...

The Highmark Caring Place is an amazing place where children and their families can interact with others in similar situations. When we lost our son, it was an incredible help through the grieving process for our daughter.

The best place to go for children who have lost a family member. The staff and volunteers are well-trained, caring, compassionate, and professional. The children go to rooms per age group while the adults get their own sessions.
