A great public beach park to visit year round for locals and tourists afar. Lots of fun things you can do here. For my visit in a cold February afternoon, my favorite activity was to take a 2 1/2 mile loop beach walk around the Cape Tip from “The Point” parking lot. I watched the last stretch of Delaware River flowing into the Atlantic Ocean. Also enjoyed the walk in the dune on the Walk Dune Trail on the south end of the park. Exploring the beach from the far south side startling at the “Herring Point “ was fabulous as well.

One of my favorite Delaware parks. There's so much to do here: trails, the beach, playground (currently closed thanks to covid), nature center, disc golf, camping, fishing pier. Near the nature center we usually see deer across the field. Lots of historical education opportunities with Ft Miles and the war towers. Wear comfy shoes and plan to spend the day.

I absolutely love this park! There is so much to see and do here. The Gordon Pond area is one of the most beautiful places in Delaware

This is a great park. Great nature, great history, and great variety. We visited in early October 2020. The museum was not open but I was able to walk around the artillery battery. The coastal defense of the US is a not well known aspect of WWII and this park does a great job of telling this story. Since it was fall, we were able to walk out on the point at low tide. This was a really interesting walk. The look of the tidal flats was incredible. The campsites looked nice and well spaced. Access to the beach was easy. There was a neat hawk watch bird watching area with a good view of most of the park. We strongly recommend visiting Cape Henlopen State Park.

Recent upgrades that include hard surface parking pads for campers and motor homes are a great improvement. Many things to see and do in the park including the beach, bike trails, WWII military towers and bunkers at Ft. Miles provide many things to see and do. Old town Lewes is a short bike ride or a good walk for regular walkers and hikers. Nice fire rings! Two minute drive from the Cape May Lewes Ferry.
