Overall a great experience working with Alejandro and his team. We decided to go with Solar Five because of the 25-year warranty and SunPower is the leader in producing most efficient panels. We also got a good discount because initially there were some confusions with the contract and pricing (long story). Alejandro was quick to resolve the issue. The bottleneck in the whole installation process was actually permit application and the time it took for Eversource to activate our system. Once permit was approved it only took the specialists two days to install a fully functional system. And they did a good job (see photos). After activation we were getting a solid 550-650 kWh in the month of Dec 2020 and Jan 2021. That's pretty good consider we live in New England area. Global Warming so more sunny days? Our house is SW facing so that helped a lot. I recommend doing home work as much as possible before installation e.g., Matt Farrell Undecided Youtube channel on two-year solar panel review is recommended. Solar won't wipe out your dependence on grid (i.e., Eversource) except maybe during summer time in New England area but it should reduce the amount of electricity you use. Overall I think in the long run it's a worthy investment especially if you plan to own the system.

We had a MassSave audit performed at our home in Wrentham and they suggested solar panels to help reduce and potentially eliminate our electrical bill. We contacted SolarFive and within six months our system was installed, running and saving us money. I would strongly recommend SolarFive and the SunPower system. SolarFive did a terrific job, despite challenges with the ongoing COVID-19 virus crisis. Kat, Solar Consultant for SolarFive, met with me to discuss their SunPower product, helped design our system and coordinate the financing. Alejandro, VP of Operations, coordinated the project through construction, which included replacement of our roof, permitting with local building inspector (a trying process), coordinating with National Grid and installation of the system. Both Kat and Alejandro were very professional, hardworking and the SolarFive crew installed the system quickly with very little disruption to our home life.

Updates: Alejandro and his team has been working with me on this monitoring issue and has been involving SunPower and EverSource. While we are working through this I wanted to make a note that his team has been very attentive in trying to sort through the open issue. To reiterate, the system installed is working, but the monitoring and the SunPower portal is the current issue. Once we can figure out if there is an issue with how SunPower reports, if there are any issues at the house, or if Eversource reports differently, I will update. Original review It's taken me months to write this review since I am of two minds on the system. Does it work? Yes, very well (SunPower 420 panels). Did the install go well on the panels, yes. It was missed that they would have to upgrade the electrical panel, which was an extra cost to us, and then they left it unlabeled (not meeting code and would have failed inspection in non-COVID times). It took two months for monitoring to start showing anything (after many calls from me and several visits from their subcontractor) and it's still not correct 6 months after the commissioning. It doesn't show energy usage during generation hours even though we are using obviously using energy and it doubles the \from grid\ usage number! (For example, January generation numbers reported from Eversource: 549kwh, by SunPower: 594kwh which is close enough and is likely due to billing cycle differences. But the usage from grid: Eversource bill reports: 481kwh, SunPower reports 952kwh, so they show a generation percentage number that makes them look bad!). I had to make every phone call about issues, I would not get return phone calls on open issues. Service from both Solar Five and SunPower is slow even if people are nice. Due to service timeliness issues, not following up on the details, and lack of ownership after the system payments are in, I would have to recommend going with someone else.

I would strongly recommend Solar Five. They have done a terrific job, despite the challenges they faced, caused by former employees. The Current VP operations, Alejandro and the CEO, worked hard and remediated any issue that was caused by them to me, and even refunded interests paid. Very professional, with high work ethic and left the site spotless after the installation.

I had Solar Five install my panel system in Malden, MA last month and could not be happier I made this decision! The process of selecting buying panels is a big decision, and installation involved many steps between Solar Five, National Grid, and town permits/inspectors. Solar Five took care of everything for me, while keeping me informed. In the long term, this investment will pay off well, and I am also happy to contribute to a more green world! I love how I can monitor my production and usage in the app throughout the day, especially on these hot sunny summer days!!
