I visited during the Summer. I was able to sit in the large hall and reflect on the history of this beautiful place. Below, I walked the museum which was jam packed with several rare weapons.

Went to the museum of weapons. Beautifully displayed guns from the revolution thru current time.

If you're a Stonewall Jackson fan (um, who isn't???) Or love guns, you should definitely visit. It opens at 9 am, free admission and the staff is wonderful. Go pay homage to Stonewall....he deserves it.

The best small arms collection I have seen so far! That was my favorite part. Stonewall Jackson HIStory collection was great as well.

Church on entrance level. Take the elevator to the left. 2nd floor is VMI museum, 3rd floor is some more VMI and a large small-arms collection with lots of history. Dog friendly. AC, restrooms, water fountain, and gift shop. Cell phone use is not permitted. Small museum, but packed with great historical information and artifacts. The history of the VMI is displayed nicely with a lot of reading material. There's a great Stonewall Jackson section, too. There is a supposed air rifle that belonged to Maryweather Lewis. And a lot of very old rifles and other guns.
