I don’t think amazing is a strong enough adjective to describe the lake county Haven. Before the pandemic hit I entered the program and unfortunately they had to close down but they still made sure that all the residents were safe and put them up in a secure location. There isn’t enough time to list all of the resources they provide and not to mention all of the love and care that each and every person that works there shows to every Single client. This place is beyond amazing and I am currently going through a rough patch and I’m trying to get back in because I know this is the place that can get me on the right path. Kudos to you late county Haven because you are truly an amazing program!

The Lake County Haven is a wonderful non-profit organization that helps women and children help themselves to a fresh start in life. By empowering the women to learn life skills such as budgeting, career coaching and health life choices, the Lake County Haven helps women stop the cycle of poverty and become healthy, productive members of society. The staff is wonderfully kind, supportive and compassionate while guiding women to become their best self. Volunteer opportunities abound for the community to offer continued support to the women. A great organization in our community!
This place is not good. The staff is actively stealing donations meant for clients. The staff also takes personal pleasure in antagonizing and provoking women who are in recovery and fragile to leave and relapse. Their policies are unfair. The counselors do not treat clients fairly and are unhelpful and judgmental.
This residential agency is dynamic and compassionate in wanting to serve homeless people. It seeks to help primarily women and children to obtain income and support them to get permanent housing while exploring other issues such as mental health and addiction recovery. It’s a positive environment for personal growth and trying a new way of doing life.
I am a graduate of the Lake County Haven program. The Haven literally saved my life. Their program taught me from the ground up how to care for myself and my family again, and they were directly responsible for reuniting me with my little boy. We have been in the same apartment going on 5 years now and I was just able to purchase a new car on my own for the first time in many years. I highly recommend this program for any woman (or woman with child/children) who is homeless and struggling to get back on her feet. You will never find a more helpful, compassionate and loving group of people who are so willing to help.
The Lake County Haven is an amazing agency. I am amazed at how many women and children lives that have transitioned through the shelter program providing them with a brighter future! Thank you Lake County Haven for making a difference in our community.
