I have years of experience training in and teaching martial arts, but Wing Tsun is new for me. I wanted to get back to feeling like a beginner and to learn something outside of my comfort zone. Right away, I saw how effectively Brad could work with both experienced students as well as those who have never taken a martial arts class. He teaches from a practical, principle-based focus that makes the concepts easy to understand, even if not easy to master! If you come to DuPage WingTsun, you'll be accepted at the level you are, but you will leave better than before!

I have since moved, so I'm sad I can't continue going here. However, the two years I spent here made me wish I found it sooner. Great set of people teaching a fantastic martial art. The concepts in WT make so much sense. I'd feel safer defending myself w/ the two years in WT than my 10 years in TKD.

Sifu Walker is hands down one of the best martial arts instructors I have ever had the pleasure to train under. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I've been studying Wing Tsun a.k.a. WT ( Leung Ting lineage ) for several years now with Brian and Brad. They are highly-skilled martial practitioners in not only WT, but in various other martial arts studied over decades. This is most advantageous for students because our instructors can show how a Karate aficionado or Muy Thai practitioner might attack, and how to defeat their tendencies. Just as important as their moves, is their ability to demonstrate and clearly convey techniques & concepts to students. If an instructor has tremendous physical ability but cannot articulate how to perfect a strike or its counter-attack, students will have a frustrating time in their learning process. I'm happy to report to you that both of our instructors have these important teaching skills, in abundance. One of my favorite aspects of the class is when we take typical attacks favored by bar-room idiots and street brawlers, and are shown multiple ways to thwart such assaults and to return the favor by giving the assailant a painful learning experience. An important characteristic of WT is that we learn to use an attacker's own brute force against them, so a smaller physique isn't necessarily a disadvantage. Also, on a personal note: I'm no longer a spring chicken, and was looking for a martial art that was focused on practical self-defense...not some high-flying circus-acrobat act that might well injure my aging body. WT offers useful techniques that do not depend on a brutish Hulk-like frame nor youthful vigor to successfully repel an attacker. In short, a martial art for anyone - and everyone. Check it out !

As someone who cross trains in Muay Thai, I have learned a lot of practical techniuqes from Sifu Brad. What I appreciate even more than that is the camaraderie and philosophical approach to martial arts. Wing Tsun is not just about being a better fighter, it's about being a better person.
