Ritter hot springs is under new ownership and is closed indefinitely. The guy is a real jerk. We camped at a nearby quarry and he woke at 7am telling us to leave because he was tired of people trying to sneak down to “His” hot springs.

I got married here! I love the owner and all the hard work. We go back every year.. can't wait to go this year
If you are looking for a hot springs experience located in a real authentic ghost town this is your place. It has not been upgraded and a very long time and the nostalgic atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. There are some cobwebs but it was just like stepping into 1901 and I loved it. The town and hot springs are set up my banks of the John day River in a beautiful desert canyon. This place would not be for everyone but if you're looking for a place that's quiet and where the family moral values of a bygone era prevail then You may enjoy this place...
Back this year for opening weekend and it's just as amazing if not better! Such a great place for all occasions and getaways.
Loved it,I had not been back there for 30 years,NOTHING has changed, that is what I liked the bestStill low cost swimming all day in a very quiet & awsome evenings
Family friendly, clean, rustic, amazing views, healing waters, ghost town. Loved it perfect vacation definitely be back.
Beautiful surroundings. "Rustic", not as rugged as other places that also tended to be sketchy places.
This place is a serious piece of history! Absolutely amazing ️ It's like stepping back in time. The inn keeper was very helpful and informative. The highlight of course is the water. The water is perfect. Both the soaking tubs and the pool are out of this world awesome. If you enjoy hot springs with history and tranquility, this is the place. It is not the Hilton, so don't come expecting everything to be perfect. The rooms are clean and quaint. We slept wonderfully. Ritter Hot Springs is heaven on Earth!
