Takumen Reviews | Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Takumen is located in Long Island City, United States on 5-50 50th Ave. Takumen is rated 4.5 out of 5 in the category japanese restaurant in United States. TakuMen is an Izakaya-style restaurant located in Long Island City. Conceived by a group of Japanese friends who forged their bonds in New York, their venture began as a Ramen project, but gradually developed into a family-friendly eatery that combines elements of Izakaya, a noodle shop and neighborhood cafe. While Izakaya culture is the soul of TakuMen, it does wear more than one hat. In the front sits a serious coffee bar with a skilled barista who uses Parlor Coffee beans. It is also a lunch joint where local patrons show up for rice bowls and noodle fare. The grocery shelf filled with condiments and ingredients used in the kitchen symbolizes TakuMen's commitment to transparency.

I've been wanting to go to Takumen for a while now. Me and my girlfriend finally had some time and it did not disappoint. I had the chashu ramen and she had the dumplings and for an appetizer we had the wings. Everything was good. The ramen was great, but what set it apart from other ramen places was the noodles. They had the right amount of chew. Definitely a place to stop and eat right by the water.

Disappointed in my every take out experience here. The latest one- I ordered two lunch sets, the chicken rice bowl, and the ban ban chicken ramen. - For the rice bowl- asked for no avocado salad and could they please sub potato salad. I was told they would ask “if that’s possible.” They did not provide any substitute in the end and didn’t mention anything about it. - the chicken ramen, broth was good but chicken was old, stringy and dry. - only after paying and leaving did we realize that if you get take out, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU the extra salads and soups that come in the lunch set. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING AND POSSIBLY ILLEGAL. I called and they told me that AFTER the fact, not when I was ordering “ The Lunch Set”. This whole order cost 40, for lunch for two. The tone of the person on the phone was somehow both disinterested and snobbish. Really disappointed, and this will be our last try with this place.

Very fast and friendly service. Prices are reasonable for very delicious bowls of ramen. Can’t wait to come back again!

The food was great! The drinks weren’t strong enough for me though. The location and looks of the place is real cute! We didn’t wait so long for the food and drinks either, the staff was really nice they gave us fans because it was hot outside which I thought was cool.
