Loved this book store. I just moved to the area and was looking for a used bookstore. I saw this was close to me and so glad i went. You can find a nice selection of books at prices almost half the original! I got 4 books. The owner is also very friendly and very helpful. Will definitely go back.

One of the best bookstores in town! There was a huge stock of books and the interior design was great as well. However, the staff wasn't nice and some of their stuff was overpriced. It was worth a visit. Didn't end up buying as much as I planned tho.

Oh lord, I love this place more than words can tell! I first visited in 1999 when I was 17 and fell absolutely and totally in love. The smell of the place, the creaking floors, the musty, dark basement with all kinds of forbidden genres...the handwritten signs by Ferlinghetti (one posted on a door says \I am not a door\) ...the top floor with its beat authors, poets and \poets chair\... I am home when I'm here. As they say, \Sit and Stay a While\!

This is the best possible place to end up in after a stroll in Chinatown. I love the shelves that are orderly but not rigidly parallel to each other, and the staff picks are great recs too. One of my favorite bookstores in the city.

The two stores have a comparable selection, but the atmosphere in Green Apple is vastly superior. It feels like someone's home where CL kind of feels like a slick tourist trap. Also, Green Apple has significantly better customer service. The clerks in CL are often borderline or openly rude. They emphatically dislike certain authors, and if you come in asking about one they won't conceal their contempt.
