Help youths get jobs is a plus for me

My daughter worked the summer of 2018 and I appreciate that she was able to gain training and do something productive for her summer. The one con is they don’t make the kids aware of their pay and the dates they should be paid. She worked the summer and it’s almost September and she has not been paid. They had her set up a bank acccount and all and she’s still waiting. She contacted her social worker and she has yet to respond. That would be my biggest gripe with the program. We work to do a job but we do it for the incentive of pay. This kind of experience may make some of the kids think in the future that they don’t want to work a job and wait forever to be paid when it’s supposed to be an experience that makes them more eager to find a good paying career because they have the feeling of acccomplishing something productive and reaping the benefits of their hard work. Parents just be aware of the fact that the pay does not come like a regular job so if you want your child to work maybe to help get themselves set for the next school year or to have summer money this is not the job for that.

There are many different agencies located in this center including, Women of Worth a mental health agency. The center offer job training, counseling at a low cost fee, computer classes and several other resources. Many of the services are free of cost. In addition, they offer many services for kids and teens.
