I took my cherished McIntosh MA5100 to Morris & Co at George Meyer at the recommendation of the folks from McIntosh and I'm so glad I did. My amp was in working condition already, but being almost 60 years old and never having been checked, I was slightly concerned about its health. I took the amp in, was treated with respect even though this wasn't a crazy 30,000 amplifier or even something new and within a couple of weeks I got the Mac back and the results of the work are staggering. It's like I'd been listening to music while under a heavy blanket. Everything is clearer and more dynamic now. Having something like this repaired isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for and having my amp serviced by factory-authorized techs feels like it was the right move. I'd wholeheartedly recommend George Meyer to anyone with classic McIntosh gear. I'm already thinking of bringing some other non-Mac equipment to them to have it looked over.

I wouldn't even give these scam artists one star if I could do it. I took a vintage Reel to Reel Deck, an Akai GX-747dbx tape deck that I've owned for 35 years to this company for a inspection and repair in June 2020 specifically of the L/R Tape tension arm mechanisms that needs to park in the down position when no tape is detected. ONE MONTH later in July 2020 they emailed me that the tape deck was ready so I picked it up, got it back home and they didn't fix the problem so I took it back and AFTER WAITING over 6 MONTHS, and after picking it up again in January 2021 the problem STILL isn't fixed. I was willing to be patient and wait OVER 6 MONTHS due to the COVID Pandemic and the problem of locating parts for a tape deck that's over 35 years old but they told me that had the necessary pats and could fix the problem. I even provided them with the Service manual myself yet after ALL THIS TIME and numerous phone calls and trips over there to inquire about the status of the repair THEY DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING yet they charged me 670 just to change some blown capacitors. I suggest If you have a vintage Audio/Video component that you want fixed you DO NOT go to this place unless you want to go through what I went through and pay a lot of money for NOTHING

My father purchased a unit from this company. The company made blatant misrepresentations and refused to fully refund his money when the equipment failed despite several documents and back and forth communications with the company's representation stating that they would honor the warranty and refund his money. My father ended up sending the unit back (which was faulty). He deeply regrets supporting this business and we hope no other customer has to experience the poor scenario he endured in the purchase of his equipment.

Can't say much as the business requested customers use its shipping entrance at the rear of the building to drop off and collect jobs left for repairs due to COVID-19 restrictions

George Meyer is one of the last great repair shops left in the city. Everyone there, from Morris at the front desk to all of the technicians in the workshop, clearly knows what they're doing and cares that the work they put out is done right. Morris is a delight in person and on the phone - his attention to detail regarding the missing knobs on my machine truly speaks to his dedication to the repair craft. I had never heard my 45-year-old Sony receiver the way it was meant to sound when it was new, and I have no doubt that these folks brought it back to fantastic condition. Though the unit's full overhaul was a little pricier than I had intended at the outset, I believe it was fully worth it - and that it will now hold up for nearly another half-century. Thank you Morris & co. at George Meyer!
