Welcoming clergy and congregation. Beautiful, hand-painted icons! A must see in Los Angeles.

Amazing church, friendly people who are happy to talk about different topics. Great parking unlike some other places and cool inside.

This is the most authentic Orthodox church in LA! The place is so beautiful and welcoming. We also had a fantastic experience filming a short film there and the atmosphere of the church certainly made me feel at home. Recommend to visit!

This church is my spiritual home. Everyone, from the clergy to the laity, is wonderful. No words can describe this unless one comes and sees this amazing parish!

Holy Virgin Mary Cathedral is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful churches in Los Angeles if not all of California. As many people have already mentioned in their reviews, the church is very old, containing many old and new icons as well as a large number of relics. The services are beautiful, being held in both English and Slavonic. If you are a native English speaker who understands no Russian or Slavonic, don’t let this put you off. I only speak English but with the help of service booklets and friendly parishioners one can easily understand what is being said and happening in the services. The parishioners are friendly and the parish as a whole is family oriented and driven, though naturally all are welcome. The kiosk bookstore and coffee shop are both excellent. The kiosk particularly has a great selection of icons and books for spiritual instruction. Father Nazari and Deacon Kirill are both great and welcoming individuals. Stop by anytime to see the church or simply to say hello.
