Wonderful place to visit regardless if you are going to buy anything, or not. To browse around such an awesome selection of Manga, japanese cultured books, and magazines is so neat. Its actually pretty rare nowadays. On my visit, I was not planning to purchase anything. However, to my surprise I left the store with a purchase. Came across a book that I've been really wanting for sometime: Book of 5 Rings, Miyamoto Musashi. This really made my visit. 5 stars for the overall experience. They did an excellent job with their precautions during the Pandemic as well. Felt safe shopping here. Happy to visit again.

I will say that it is not exactly the most comfortable reading spot ever. If you sit in the basement bench or chair, then you can read a little bit. Any book nerd would appreciate this historic establishment in San Francisco and realize that it is unique in its own way making it one of the best bookstores in the US.

This is a great bookstore. It's so old, it's filled with memories and photos of the past. I really liked all the quotes and sayings hung on the walls above the books. There is a great selection of books and some have post it notes marking them as \Staff Favorites\. To me that is very helpful!

Went with my parents and looked through there wasn't really planning on buying anything but left the store with 14 manga lol. It was a bit pricy but hey it depends on which manga you are buying.

I really enjoyed going there so much manga and books! The manga was fairly priced, the items were really awesome . I would rate 5 Stars BUT it was kinda pricy. Will go again.
