Love this place to death, but it's dying a slow and cruel death. Boarded up and full of grafitti now. LA is a horrible place to try and have nice things.

A great historic place to visit and do some splurge shopping. You can get just about anything Japanese here and then some. Great food in the area and very accessible parking which is 10. Would highly recommend as a stop if you are doing some sort of tour of the Los Angeles area.
Definitely different from is immediate environment. I enjoyed the shift in culture. The shops were small and lively. There were meat bun vendors all over. Open air and fairly clean actually. I do wish it was a bit bigger with more shops but what's there will provide a nice shopping outing.
A lot of Japanese restaurants, lol, of course, good place for friends hanging out.
The little Tokyo mall parking lot is a SCAM. The payment machine claims to accept credit cards but it doesn’t work AT ALL. You have to pay with cash. AND it says it’ll return any changes for the cash but it DOESN’T! Several people before me got scammed, they put in 20 bills to pay for 12 parking fee and the machine just took the money NO CHANGES RETURNED! It’s past 8pm and there’s no one at the office so no way to get the money back. Don’t park at this place!
