Los Angeles Conservancy Reviews | Rating 4.8 out of 5 stars (4 reviews)

Los Angeles Conservancy is located in Los Angeles, United States on 523 W 6th St #826. Los Angeles Conservancy is rated 4.8 out of 5 in the category heritage preservation in United States. The Los Angeles Conservancy is a private, member-based nonprofit devoted to preserving, revitalizing, and celebrating the historic places that make Greater Los Angeles unique. Formed in 1978 by a small group of people working to prevent demolition of the Los Angeles Central Library, the Conservancy is now the largest organization of its kind in the U.S., with nearly 6,000 member households and hundreds of volunteers. While the Conservancy’s efforts span Los Angeles County, we’re located in downtown L.A. We work through education and advocacy to raise awareness of our architectural heritage, prevent the needless demolition of historic places, and help people preserve places that matter to them. Our walking tours cover a range of topics, from downtown’s renaissance to the details of the Art Deco style. Last Remaining Seats, our summer series of classic films in historic theatres, brings more than 10,000 people into Broadway’s spectacular movie palaces.

You haven't really been toLos Angeles Conservancy until you've gotten your photos taken with theLos Angeles Conservancy lampposts! After the Hollywood sign, this is probably the most photographed spot in Los Angeles Conservancynot devoted to someone dead or famous.

We did ALL of the tours and they are wonderful. Our last was Modern by Moonlight and it totally makes you fall in love with LA. The docents are knowledgeable - the tours inspiring and educational. Recommend!

My wife and I did two walking tours and we enjoyed every second of them. Excellent job passing the knowledge and history of downtown L.A. to others
