I sent a late payment with penalty included but I just received a 'certificate of tax lien' because they haven't received my payment. My payment was withdrawn from the bank soon after I sent the payment 2 months ago. Right now I'm on the phone waiting for them to pick up, 53 minutes on the Spanish and 22 minutes on the English line, (I've been told the spanish is usually faster. but no luck.) I went to their website but they are asking for more time to process payments but mine was withdrawn already. If we screw up we get penalized if they screw up they issue a general apology like the image I'm attaching.

On the property tax due date, 4/10/2020, we tried to pay the tax online several times. However, the county website was down. We took screen shots of their site down. Later, NBC news also reported it. Since it was LA County's fault that we could not pay the tax on time, we filed penalty waiver. However, after receiving the penalty waiver confirmation and submitting the evidence, we have never heard back from LA County. We emailed 5 times and called 10 times in the past few months and got no response. In August, we were lucky to speak to a representative over the phone. She just told us to be patient and the county received too many penalty waiver requests. Now, LA County imposed 1200 penalty on us for their mistake. We kept emailing and calling them. No response. Can't believe that we paid taxes and got no service.

Just spent an hour waiting for them to take my call as they said there was 25 people ahead of me. when the person finally answered he asked for the Assessor's Number which I gave twice for clarity. After confirming that I was in fact the property owner I asked if they had received my payment as it had been 13 days since mailing it. He just answered that they are far behind in processing payments. They certainly could have posted that on their web site as a public service and to cut down on physical inquires via telephone.

They never answered my phone call. They never answered my e mail and mail. Their office is closed due to covid and they keep charging and adding penalty. Events ought it was the 1st time due to pandemic. It is so frustrating.

The wait time is a time consuming ordeal , but then to have to deal with a rude , incompetent representative is another issue. She was of absolutely no help and after being on hold for 50 minutes , transferred me back to the end of the wait line. She didn't answer any of my questions and when I told her my reception was an issue , she said me fumbling through my papers was the issue. I gave her the assessor's number and she said I gave her too many zeros without even verifying the number a second time. The only thing I was really frustrated with was her rudeness and inability to resolve any issues. Seriously , we are in a pandemic and because of people like that , the world is going through hell to clear up any tax issues. Downright despicable !! An opinion is irrelevant to facts and frankly unnecessary.
