The female 4 bedroom is a lie. It's the attic and there's 8 beds, NOT FOUR! They try to beat you in the head and justify their price and false advertising by saying that 4 beds (bunk beds) are on hardwood flooring and the other 4 are on carpet. The room isn't the cleanest, the tub in the girl's room was dirty and the blinds hadn't been dusted in months. They won't refund part of the money for their little bait and switch either. Also, in California, where weed is legal, they don't let you smoke in the backyard or front yard even when no once else is home and I'm disabled with a medicinal license. If you know what you're getting when you book your room, it's fine. But I don't like liars!

Great location, very clean and neat place for a great price!!
Great hostel, great hosts, quiet and serene environment. Free wifi. Abundance of outlets throughout the home, as well as on the front porch and out back on the patio. The owners of the hostel live on site, so any time you need something they are right there. There are small lockers you can rent for about 2 plus a key rental fee of 3. It is a very safe environment though. Coffee and tea brewing all day. There are also usually snacks out during the day. The hosts put out a big breakfast every morning with a large variety of options. You can also use the kitchen for light cooking during breakfast time. It is on a quiet side street off of Hollywood Blvd, so the location itself is very restful, but you are still convenient to everything. If you are flying in or out of LAX, take the FlyAway bus - it will drop/pick you up just a few blocks away from the hostel on Hollywood and Vine for 8 (debit/credit only, no cash).
I had a celebration here at Republic Inn / Hollywood in the courtyard. The staff were very accommodating and overall the service was great. My server was slow but she was kind and professional which made up for the slow service. The only complaint I have is that they allow smoking!
Definitely a hostel w a bed and breakfast feel outside of the room: small room with 6 bunk beds tightly fit together, bring headphones or earplugs as someone will probably be snoring. beds are super uncomfortable and shower curtain will stick to you in shower. im leaving a 4 Star for the reason that you get what you pay for: 35 a night in the location is not bad at all and the WiFi is free and fast, also the host is super friendly and provides a generous breakfast
The hostel owner poorly treated me for something I did not do at all. They kept falling on deaf ears and refuse to provide any witness or proof when I asked what I did wrong. It made me suspicious of what they wanted me to leave their hostel. Plus, they also threatened me to leave the hostel or call the police. I was extremely disappointed with their poor attitude.
I checked in to this hostel,and it is an awesome place to stay,very friendly and courteous services,and host are very kind people's..I would stay here forever if that was and option,ha,ha,!!!!but to my experience I think it's the best in Hollywood!!!!
Just the most wonderful hosts, super amenities, very warm, clean as can be, and just a wonderful time.
