This is the best tasting Romanian food in Los Angeles. She cooks pretty much like my mom and that is hard to match. The meals are loaded for only 5 bucks. I can't wait to go again. Family restaurant. Best, George Anton - Hollywood Film Director

a moma, papa restaurant with a few tables with a "bust your gut" meal for a few dollars...
We went here last week with some good friends. There are plenty of healthy dishes from; seafood's, veggies, and delicious salads. For me, this place is top notch restaurant offering European dining.
Ate there last evening (July 12, 2013) - bowl of meatball soup - terrific. Then my wife had cabbage rolls - she loved them; I had the pork schnitzel - perfectly done - thin and crusty, with mashed potatoes ... and a plate of cornichons for the table; topped off with their amazing crepes and sour cherries. A perfect little strip mall restaurant, short on atmosphere, but long on good food, and the price is right. We'll be back.
Overall it was just an OK experience. The menu didn't offer as much as I thought it would and the menu see more of a continental European style versus something from Eastern Europe. The goulash was mostly potatoes and I just didn't feel like finishing it. The stuffed cabbage was just ok.
Very homemade style. Not my favorite type of food, but it was actually very tasty. Go try it.
I wouldn't normally write a review that is this bad but my experience at this "under new management" establishment was horrible. First of all, the service was rude, slow and served moldy lemon slices in the water. The bread items were very dry and not a lot of flavor in the rest of the food as well..They were "out" of the "'special' soup of the day" and server mentioned they could substitute the chicken noodle soup for it..funny thing is when I got the soup there was actually no chicken in the chicken noodle soup. I would NEVER go back to Sabina's again.
