Stopped in during the Sunday open meditation. Very calm and friendly environment. New to meditation and was a great place to start!

I've been to this particular Shambhala 2x, to Shambhala centers for over 15 years and to Buddhist temples and centers since 1992. The absolutely ridiculous amount of noise from people moving dishes on and on and all the chat while the sitting meditation is occurring in the room next to it is absurb... NEVER experienced so much lack of understanding or respect. Also lots of door slamming (anyone know how to manually close a door in a quiet manner??) . Shambhala needs to do a thorough review... bulls in a China shop are not helpful to their cause

Visited for the first time for the Sunday open sitting meditation. Was a wonderful experience. Very peaceful sit followe ed by an invigorating discussion.

A warm friendly place that is so simply and elegantly conducive to slowing down, relaxing, and getting familiar with ourselves and our minds. I've been going to both the Eagle Rock and Mar Vista centers for a few years now, and it has helped to give me tools that help me improve/enhance/enjoy my everyday life. A great combo of meditation practice, teaching, community and ummm food :)

From the first time I walked into the Shambhala center of LA in 2006 I felt right at home. The community run center is truly a family. This is obvious to anyone walking in by the countless of free programs available to beginners to meditation and seasoned meditators alike. The paid programs are worth 3X what they ask for, and still their policy is that no one is going to be turned away for lack of funds.
