We really like this place. It is great food, the service is polite, friendly and helpful. The pricing is fair and the amount of meat at the shabu shabu is ok. The ingredients are fresh and tasteful. The Sukiyaki is amazing. The desert with the fountain is amazing. The parking situation sucks a bit, but this is not their fault. Usually there is a place for you without reservation. I would recommend this place. The wine is too pricey for this restaurant, area and wine brand (easy to check online). The front door is broken since more than 4 years.

The food itself is delicious. The staff was friendly and did their job they just didn't seem to have a sense of urgency when it came to setting everything up. Even tho the place was empty when we got there. It's worth going back to if it's empty.
My quest for amazing sushi has finally ended. Nara on Haight was the perfect ending to a perfect date. Super fresh fish and good portions, reasonable prices but the variety is what caught my eye. 4 spectacular rolls. Loco Spider-Man, Sake Bomb, and my new all-time favorite roll, For the Beaches. Also our server, Stephanie was super awesome with all my annoying mods!
In the begging everything was fine. However, WE HAD FOUND AN ANT IN OUR DISH! After we asked to replace the meal they replaced it, however they didn’t take the bowl with ant away and left us without new chop stick and spoons. They even didn’t turned the stove top on so we were unable to cook our shabu shabu again. We were have to sit in the dirty table, unable to cook our food and waited for 15 minutes until the server checked in with us. They also never checked in the first time, so we were have to go to the kitchen to find waiters and report the accident with the ant. The worst customer care ever! Totally ruined my day. Truly the worst customer care we experienced since we came to America. Do you wanna find insects in your soup and receive total ignorance from the waiters? Go to yojie Japanese fondue!
Always amazing food. Always amazing staff. Always a good time. Lived here in la for 2 years and had this twice a week I was gone for 6 months recently moved back and day to being out here already back.. love it
The food is equivalent to Ralph's sushi. Had to send back one of the rolls we ordered bc the rice was hard and not fresh, and we noticed the table next to us also had the same issue. They tried, I'll give em that but i wouldn't recommend this place. Best thing about the experience was one of the host/servers that was working when we were dining in. I didn't get his name, but he was super nice and great. Go to sushi stop for better quality, cheap sushi.
I used to love this place, sadly their prices have gone up and quality down slightly. Goma is more watery now, no mushrooms in the veggies you get, no more awesome happy hour and Sunday deals, I've been there over 20 times but it's sad to see the changes over time. The staff is always friendly and helpful though but if it's busy service can be quite slow!
I honestly don't know why this place has such a good rating. Food is mediocre yet overpriced. Service was horrendous. We basically had to do everything ourselves. The guy brought our food out in the cart and left without putting them on our table. Our waitress wasn't around so we ended up doing it. We checked in for a free ice tea but she thought it was ice cream. I told her and instead of double checking, she said I ordered it, I had to pay for it and it was only 2. After I showed it to her, I didn't get an apology. She was definitely new but still... Imagine I told her that I want to tip her 2 less; would she still be happy?
