Louisville's Bowman Field (LOU) is Kentucky's first airport and reportedly the oldest continuously operating commercial airfield in North American. It's a must-see for anyone who loves planes and pilots. I grew up near here...and have enjoyed countless days watching people, planes, hot-air balloons and airships come and go. Outstanding buildings, including a district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Host to hugely popular annual airshows. A shady, leafy extension of adjacent Seneca Park. A real gem.

So much history there. They did a great job inside with all the pictures and info. Plus just cool to sit and watch the small aircraft take off and land.

I got there right about 5 minutes before they closed the young lady shut in the door Angie was so kind of nice and she got me taking right care of I was there to get my photo ID made mine has expired because of covid-19 been able to make it over there and I thought they were open till 5 but I was wrong but yeah they were very nice it was a clean facility I would write them a 5

Pretty painless experience. You have to go in in the morning to schedule your appointment slot for the day--and that isn't really clear online. So show up at 7 to claim your place and plan on coming back a few hours later.
