Checks is the Germantown institution. Casual, laid back, old school neighborhood bar with great pub grub, especially the burgers, the chili, and an amazing selection of vegetables, even stuff like collard greens, which by the way are cooked with bacon and are pretty amazing. I don't think you will find a bar that serves a greater variety of tasty vegetables. The folks that work here are friendly and the prices are even friendlier. This time I got the club and it is the bomb.

Cool local place. Many TVs for sports viewing. Coolest bartender. She will call you Baby girl even if you have a beard. Love it! The food is what it is. Bar food.

Love the food here but wish there were a few more vegan or non dairy items on the menu. The staff is always nice and friendly, and the crowd is too. We ate outside and wiped down the table ourselves and found it to be pretty dirty, So glad we cleaned it ourselves, but of course, it is outside and subject to car exhaust etc.

Our lunches were very good. Y don had their chicken sandwich and I had been soup and fish plate which lasted me two days

Great food, friendly staff. Relaxed, unpretentious feel! Nice selection of beers. Quite a variety of food offerings. Had one of the Specials - the Philly Cheesesteak - and it was very good. Took my niece there before flying home to Sacramento. She LOVED the place! Said it was cozy & friendly, and she was thrilled to have a Yuengling draft (apparently hard to get in California).
