When my daughter decided she wanted to learn how to ride horses, I began my search for just the right trainer. I visited two before I was invited to visit Alivio Equestrian Academy. I wanted my daughter to be safe on the school horses, the teacher to be knowledgeable and professional, and for the horses to be well cared for and happy doing their job. I found all three with Tina! I first noticed she is very careful about safety. Helmets, proper handling, fitting the stirrups correctly for every ride were just a few of the things she made sure happened. Next I noticed how she was not just teaching my daughter to ride, but she was creating a TEAM. Human/horse. It is amazing what her eye can see... the rider’s hip the slightest bit out of place correcting the movement of the horse. It is truly an amazing sight to see! Because I found her work so fascinating, I found myself sticking around after lessons to watch her work horses. Some just needing a little tweaking, some needing help physically, others being transformed for behavior problems- but all with great care, gentleness and always communicating with the horse in a way that the horse understands and is comfortable with. Again, amazing to watch horses transform over time. After three years at Alivio, my daughter has gone on to explore other Activities, but I continue to follow Tina’s great work with horses and rider and she should be your first choice for your child learning to ride, you learning to ride, solving behavior problems, expanding your horsemanship skills, and perfecting ‘the circle.’ (Very important!) Highly recommend!

I've been working with Tina for about 8 months now and am so thrilled to find such an instructor focused on classical horsemanship. I appreciate the focus on the building blocks that create balance and harmony, and when it all comes together it is truly a thing of beauty. I've ridden on and off for 40 years and there is no way I'd go back to another way of riding again. I drive over an hour each way to get to her barn and its worth it. Tina's horses are loved beyond measure and it shows. Definitely recommended for those who want to learn how to ride in balance and partnership with the horse.

I absolutely love Alivio! It's hands down the best place to not only learn about horses and their behavior and how to work with them properly, but also the best place to discover yourself. I have been going there for 4 years and will continue to do so for many more! Highly recommend!!!

Tina is the best! She works very hard to help the people she is working with understand the horse. She ensures the horse is being worked properly to improve the horse’s life and your experience. Definitely recommend!!

Tina is truly dedicated to understanding each and every horse and rider, and to help them become an in sync, balanced team, together. I’ve worked with Tina for over four years now, and multiple horses. From draftx to warm blood jumpers. We’ve uncovered gaps in each horse and the training, in-hand and saddle exercises needed to get the horse where we want them to be, but doing so in a slow and correct fashion. It takes partnership of both trainer and rider, to ensure the work in-between lessons, is being done and progress is being made. If you want a trainer who truly understands the biomechanics of a horse and how this can apply to all disciplines, works with you and your horse and helps you to solve problems - Tina is your trainer!
