Good for kids
This is an amazing gem in West Michigan! Public viewing nights are posted on the GRAAA website, and they usually hold them two Saturdays per month. After you step out of your car you walk up a welcoming ground level lit 1/4 Mile paved walkway up to the observatory. They have two telescopes, although sometimes only one is open to the public. Members bring their own telescopes and show patrons various celestial bodies/clusters. We have seen the rings on Saturn along with a few moons, and also the cloud bands on Jupiter with some moons! You won't be disappointed!!

It's nested nicely away from the city, and provides a fairly decent dark sky area for nighttime photography
Took the family here on an open public night. So much fun; the kids really liked it too! We will definitely be back!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing equipment available for members to use.
I saw Jupiter God is amazing Jupiter is beautiful
My wife and I had our first date here almost 17 years ago. Special place for us and for Michigan.
Very friendly people who love to share and show their knowledge of astronomy. It's always a very romantic and scenic place to be during a clear summer night. The entrance fees are always dirt cheap and there is always a large group of astronomers with different kinds of telescopes to show what the skies hold for the night.
I great local hidden destination that can provide an amazing glimpse at the larger picture. Enjoyed by children and adults alike. Several telescopes provided for viewing some of the different celestial objects and the cost is minimal, going to support the GRAAA. Check their schedule and weather permitting, check it out!
