The kind, professional staff at Diuguid's helped us navigate an extremely difficult, emotional situation with sensitivity and efficiency. Everything involving the funeral service was handled expertly from beginning to end leaving the family to focus on saying goodbye to our loved one.

My review....and I did not anticipate listing all of this but no response to my email after my initial phone call discussing the services. We used Diuguid's because it was a family tradition. My mother was called the wrong name twice in the service, once Linda and once Mrs. Reynolds. Her name was Jeanne Pugh Ramsey. I asked for two special requests to be included in her service they did not have the request accurate. Oh, and my thank you notes were for Jeanne Pugh Hudson that I received. Then no one brought the register so we had return to the funeral home to pick it up. The second longest living funeral home offered a discount of 360.00 on a 13K funeral. It was an insult to our family. UPDATE: Because I am honest in my posts. I starting receiving calls from Diuguids on Monday, 1/14/19. Two calls Tuesday AM which I was able to answer and speak with manager. Charles \Chuck\ Bartel wanted to further discuss my Mother's service on 12/14/18. We came to an amicable additional refund. My honest comment here is no one contacted me after my email of 12/26/18 but only after my review was I contacted again. Chuck I cannot in honesty say that you \stepped up and made it right\ when it took a review to get attention. I will say that you did contact me and wanted to know how to make it right and for that I am grateful.

We are often caught by surprise in needing a funeral home and all the help that they can give. We have been very pleased with all that Duiguid's has done to make the whole process of putting a loved one to rest a good one. Charles Bartel has offered suggestions, made last minute changes, and gave us encouragement, all with good grace at our most trying time.

Duiguid Funeral Service did a fantastic job for my father. We worked with Charles Bartel and he treated us like we were family. He explained everything to us and worked with us every step of the way. No detail was too small or went unnoticed. It was a beautiful service and I know that was because of the personal touches Duiguid Funeral Service placed on everything they touched. I have been to many funerals at various funeral homes in the area and no one treats you better than this funeral home.

Diuguid Funeral service is by far the most friendly, outgoing and professional funeral service in the Lynchburg Va area. They have been consistently in service over 200 years, and the original Mr. Diuguid invented the casket carriers a version of which every funeral home world wide now uses today. The current manager, Chuck Bartel has been in the business 28 years and still truly cares about each and every family they serve. My family and I would never go anywhere else for our funeral service needs, nor do we recommend any other to our friends who are in need of funeral services. You absolutely can not go wrong by putting your loved ones in the hands of the fine staff at Diuguid Funeral Service and Creamatory.
