I hired Krazan and Associates to perform welding inspection. The short time they have been in my employ they have exhibited unabashed unethical behavior by claiming hours in excess of work performed (they are paid hourly). It started with a 45 minute Zoom meeting for which they charged 4 hours worth of time. The excuse was the person attending the virtual meeting had a 2.5 hour commute. Charging for a physical commute to a virtual meeting is baffling but that is emblematic of their entire approach. My contractor and his personnel informed me that they were present for 2 days on the job for 3 hours and 15 minutes respectively. They charged for 11 hours of service. I did agree to a 4 hour minimum charge per session but that leaves 3 hours of overcharging. When investigated further their inspectors came 1 and 2.5 hours earlier than asked, sat in their car and billed for their time and making the GPS tracking of their movements appear to substantiate their claims. They also claimed a 30 minute car trip took 1 hour. Minor though that was it is frustrating because every single thing was inflated to an extreme. When I disputed the bill with the project manager he was hostile on the phone and in communication. Now he has reported me to the city and asked them to stop my project. I feel held hostage by their fraudulent billing. Plus their prices are significantly higher then other companies but over-charging is clearly what they do best.
