If you get life time free battery change plan and go for your replacement they will do it as if they are doing a favor for you. Too many questions, verifications. Not a great customer experience

Super easy. Just bring in your remote or whatever device and they will replace the battery. I always get the lifetime replacement with my key fobs for my vehicles. The second one that I did already paid for itself.
