I joined the Junior League in Fayetteville, AR and came to Madison as a transfer. I initially joined in Madison as a way to meet new people and learn about volunteer opportunities and have now been a member in Madison for 4 years. Their mission is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. This is an awesome organization of powerful, influential, dedicated women all working for a great cause to make improvements in their community. This is also an organization that helps you meet like-minded women where you develop friendships that last forever. While I have been a member of the Junior League of Madison, I have worked full-time and been a graduate student full-time. The League understands that I have other commitments and works to help me have a solid balance between all that I have going on. All in all, it has been a very rewarding experience.
