One of our favorite places to walk! Well groomed trails, beautiful water, fun paths, always clean. Bathrooms available. Trees are incredible. Fun for all ages. Nice parking lot across the street.

Picnic Point is a great place to experience nature in Madison. There are various trails you can walk on with good views along the way. As you may have guessed from the name, it is a wonderful place for a picnic with panoramic views of Lake Mendota and the state capitol.

Still a beautiful walk any time of year. I haven’t been out there for over 10 years but it’s mostly the same except for the stonework at the point. It’s very well maintained. I was proud to introduce my grandchildren to this wonderful place

nice way for nature lovers of all levels to spend a couple hours. I'm a pretty amateur hiker and I had no trouble making my way around the paths. lots of lovely views and plenty of places to sit and have a campfire. highly recommend!
