We love eating out. Last night we found this superb place which friends told us about. We passed a beautiful evening there with fine food and a well-trained crew and a distinguished chief cook. We put this venue in our list and we will definitely come back soon. We highly recommend.

I have to give this place 1 star. In which I spent 80 on this family meal. first off my food looked disgusting. I thought this place would have good food because of the reviews. My ribs tasted like it wasn't season, burnt and dry, wasn't cleaned good and just tasted like smoked on a electric smoker. The garlic mashed potatoes were to salty. The beef brisket were so shredder it looked like slop on a plate. With me spending that much i thought at least they could of gave us utensils. The only thing good in this meal was the mac and cheese. I will never order here again. Smoky Jon is a joke i called him about my order and he was very rude. He stated he'll call me back but never did. If I was you save your money or go somewhere else. To be honest I think it's the family and friends writing the reviews. Thank for nothing.
When I first ordered this I was excited as I had never had Smoky Jon's and saw a lot of good reviews. I have loved Beef Butter's food but I thought I'd try something new. I ordered brisket, ribs, and mac n cheese. The brisket was good and the mac n cheese was ok, which is why I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1. The ribs were terrible. They were severely overcooked. The BBQ sauce on the outside was extremely burnt to the point where it was extremely hard and basically inedible. Underneath the burnt layer of sauce, the meat was very tough but still edible. I've never seen ribs like this, but the bones could be broken apart or crushed with your fingers (see image). As I was cutting through the extremely tough exterior, the bones just broke and released a brown powder into the rib meat. At that point I didn't know if I was eating ribs or bone insides, so I stopped eating it and had to throw it away. Ribs are one of my favorite foods and to see them be wasted like this was disappointing. The worst part of this is they were visibly burnt on the outside and any staff should know this. Serving that to someone knowing it's overcooked is neglect. From other reviews I have seen their chicken and pork seem to be good, but I can't imagine ever ordering from here again. Comparing each item to Beef Butter's version, I would choose Beef Butter for all 3, even though to be fair the brisket at Smoky Jon's was good. If all the food was fantastic I could justify the heavy price, but you couldn't pay me to eat those ribs again.
We had our first experience with Smoky Jon's while in the Madison area and knew right away we wanted them to cater our wedding. Jon was great in communicating with me via email to figure out our options, pricing, etc. We got married at a small venue outside of the Dells. The delivery was punctual and set up just as we asked. Food was hot and all utensils were provided. There was tons of food leftover for us to snack on the week after. Our family still raves about the food.
