Wonderful camping area! Visited friends here a few nights ago and enjoyed a campfire, brats, chili, conversation. The trees had peaked in color & were absolutely beautiful! Right near a bike trail. Makes me want to get back into camping again!!

Great paved hiking and biking path as well as prairie hiking trails. Easy access from Capital City Trail. Several nature trails plus camping and picnic facilities.

The prairie trail by the heritage center is very short, but geared towards families so that's appropriate. I then headed down Libby Road and hiked by the observatory and Lake Waubesa, which was picture perfect that day. Unfortunately, there aren't signs stating part of that lake loop is closed, so you don't know until you get there, and then end up walking in the parking lot and road to get back on trail. Still a nice forest with a lake view.

It's a hot spot for the park rangers and even saw a gentleman get a fine for no sticker but actually had a sticker which was blaintly obvious but somehow got overlooked. Not sure how but overall a nice launch.

Always a pleasure to camp here. Right on the bike path. Easy access by bike to Madison MacFarlane, or head West and see the country.
