Aaron knows a lot about guitars. Went here 5 years ago to put in new strings and for a tune-up for my Epiphone Hummingbird pro. Best decision made :) Update: Madison's is no longer in business. I read somewhere in the star tribune article that it closed late 2016. Some rumors are pointing that they moved to a new location in New Brighton but I havent received any confirmation.

I usually go to larger chain repair stores but my previous experience left me with a little to be desired. I heard about Madison's from a friend and was in need of repair for my guitar so I stopped in. Immediately I was greeted by a professional, friendly staff. I felt as if I had been going there for years. Their experience and knowledge was far superior to other places I had previously gone too. Their prices are more than competitive and their turn a round time is far quicker than any other previous place I visited. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process and I can barely notice where the work was done.. only because I knew where it was :) Overall a 5 out of 5 for me and I definitely will be using these guys for any of my guitar needs!

Aaron just replaced my pickups, wiring, caps, etc. on my strat, an did an excellent job. About two weeks after that (because I trust him and he has extensive knowledge and skill, mixed with fair competitive pricing) he put a new Seymour Duncan Antiquity p90 in my es 339. Both times he set up my guitar better than it was for little to no additional cost. He really knows his stuff. He can make your guitar feel and play like you always wanted it to, and has all the equipment (including heat treating, on the spot nut making, soldering equipment, etc) to do it right. He's in NE Minneapolis now, go schedule a time to talk to him, it's well worth your time.

I've had a variety of work performed at Aaron's shop. Set up for my acoustic, a complete refurbish on my trusty old Gibson L6-S, work on my amp... and I take guitar lessons there as well. The lutherie work has been exceptional. My equipment is in top notch condition now. I would not hesitate to recommend Madison's to anyone who wants to make sure that their guitars are well looked after while not breaking the bank. The lessons that I have been taking are equally exceptional. For many months I've been under the tutelage of Matthew Fox, who is one of those of individuals with the rare combination of incredible musical expertise coupled with a talent and desire to teach.

I won't take my guitars anywhere, but to Aaron. He's incredibly knowlegable, and even let me watch him do a setup, all while explaining everything he was doing and why. His prices can't be beat. If you need any repair work done to your guitar, don't hesitate to give him a call. This guy knows his stuff!

I can't rave enough about the quality of service, attention to detail, and quick turn-around at Madison's. I play in 2 bands around town and am very critical of my gear. I have high end guitars that are my work horses and I won't let just anybody work on them. I won't name names, but I have had sub-par service at several shops around the Twin Cities. I always found myself waiting, sometimes weeks, only to get my guitar back and have to make further adjustments myself. Not only have the bridges, saddles, nut replacements, and set ups been to pro spec and of top notch quality, but they have always been done in a couple days. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Madison's to anyone. Keep up the good work fellas!!!

After being introduced to Aaron and the crew last year I've become a regular customer at Madison's. I buy my guitars used on eBay or craigslist, and I bring them in as soon as I get them. The techs there get them back to playing like new and have performed upgrades on some, as well. I've been very pleased with the end result every time. All the guys there are very knowledgeable, and super friendly. I highly recommend Madison's in all regards.

Aaron (the owner) know's his stuff and does amazing work. I love taking my guitars to have him work on them. He always takes good care of his customers and the staff is very friendly and dedicated to the work they do. I'd give them more stars in my rating if that option was available. They are a 10 out of 5 stars in my book,..
