The staff is very friendly and they make their best for you to have a pleasant experience; they provide clear indications about what to do and how to make the best of your experience. They have sunscreen and bug spray if you need any. The site online is self-explanatory and you can easily book in. But for the practicalities of where to pick up the kayak and all, it is better to call.

We did the 7 mile lower river trip. It took us an hour longer than expected because we we’re having such a good time floating along when we should have been paddling. The lower half of the river is very slow moving which the two college aged guys who worked at the shop told us. The service was great. I called ahead to see what kayak would be good for me since I’m 6’4” and the call was very helpful. The two employees were super chill and knowledgeable about the river and didn’t mind that we were late for the pickup. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Couldn’t have been easier or more fun. Went midweek so no crowds. We booked online for the 8 mile trip and even though we showed up early we were taken up river right away. Tandem kayak was tons of fun to share the work but late in the season with low water we did a bit of portaging to get out of the low spots. Probably more than if we were in singles. Bring your water shoes! Beautiful herons all along the way. Some good rapids still despite the low water but all in all very tame. Took us 3.5 hours and was a great way to enjoy a hot day. Landed back at their base camp so easy breezy. Jackson took us up river and gave us a great lay of the land. Couldn’t have been nicer. Will do it again next summer - maybe July when the waters a little higher. But all in all great outfit and great day!
Excellent experience! Dennis was a wonderful tour guide of New Hartford restaurants on the way up and back from the lake. Great quality equipment and very professional all around. Will absolutely be back!
We rented a canoe and did the 6 mile upper river paddle. Upper river had some tricky conditions in a canoe (rapids, shallows, lots of fishermen), so definitely not for beginners. It only took about two hours, even with a quick break for lunch. Service was great, boats and equipment in decent condition. Also, the staff was very accommodating even though we showed up a bit late.
