As a wedding videographer, I travel around to A LOT of different venues. Historic Shady Lane was very IMPRESSIVE! The grounds are absolutely GORGEOUS allowing for several different backdrops when filming couples on their wedding day. As big fan of stone houses, the architecture and gardens around the property really caught my eye! The staff was very friendly and accommodating helping in whatever way they could to ensure a smooth experience. I'm sure the food was catered by another company, but it was still very good, and my overall experience throughout the day was a very pleasant one! It truly is a BEAUTIFUL place for a wedding! I look forward to returning to this venue in the future!

This venue is nothing short of incredible. Bradania and staff were all incredibly sweet and helpful. The response to covid necessitated a very short notice delay of our wedding, but aside from there being less flowers in bloom in late summer, the venue and event were all as lovely as we could have hoped. Thank you all!

We have catered numerous weddings here and have always had great success, even when the weather has been horrible. The owner is always improving the landscape, the facilities, and the equipment. I had one issue of one of our trucks hitting a tree stump. The next time we were there the tree stump was gone, road widened and stone drive laid down. This is a great wedding venue in the area with beautiful landscaping, secluded surroundings, easy drive from 83 or rt 30, and owner & staff that will work with you.

So this review will be a little bit different than others. So, my husband and I got married back in 2014, which was right at the beginning of when HSL started doing weddings. We had seen it online and immediately fell in love. Like I mean love at first sight. Without getting married at HSL, or wedding atmosphere would have never ever been the same. Now, let me explain why. First and foremost, THEY CARE. They care deeply for their couples and supplying the BEST wedding experience a venue as to offer. They keep the property in perfect shape, and I mean perfect. They are sure to keep with the current trends, but also while relishing and preserving all of the natural architecture of the property. (you should check out the history if you're unfamiliar) But, not only all of that, the staff has one priority. You and your guests. They have your best interest mind at all times and the golf cart to drive you around is one of those ways. The property is large, so the golf cart is so helpful for the elderly or for those really hot July days. Now, not only did I get married here, I have photographed over a dozen weddings here!! That's the kicker. I'm a wedding photographer. So not only have I been able to see the venue from a client's perspective .. but also a vendors perspective! When you have a venue that ACTUALLY cares about your vendors, you know you have a good one. Trust me, I've done over 250 weddings and have worked with horrible venues that don't care about you. So just knowing that they care about you and your guests AND your vendors should be reassuring enough to book them right now! And don't hesitate. They book super fast because of all of these things and more. Historic Shady Lane, thank you for being literally favorite venue in Central PA.

Beautiful Wedding Venue! I love the fact that there are so many options. I also like the fact that you can have your own caterer on-site and that you have the property to yourself for the entire day.
