Was stationed there in 1962 to 1964 with helicopter squadron two in hanger # seen the last blimp being decommissioned there. Cdrs. Uncles was my commanding officer. Along with Chief Earl. We received the new kaman Seasprite helicopters with the new T58 jet engine. Along with the helos came their technical advisor (Marty) who joined our squadron on our Mediterranean cruise aboard the USS Independents CVA 62. I qualifed on the 45 on the rifle range right near the golf course when the Cuban crisis started. I really enjoyed my stay at NAS LAKEHURST.
