This has been revitalized after Irma with nice clean restrooms outdoor shower and actual sandy beach as opposed to gravelly beach like the rest of the keys. Natural setting so the seaweed is piled up but it doesn't stink. Water is churned up and isn't the nicest for swimming, but it's a beautiful view.

The seaweed on the shore was pretty bad the day we went but if you walk out a bit it was fine. The dogs loved it. Pretty private.

This would be a hidden gem in the keys however the bad smell of the long rested seaweed is almost not supportable for any human, it appears that the city of Marathon doesn’t do much about the seaweed but they do keep the beach clean. There are very few people that go to this beach, when there’s a crowd like 5 people those are locals walking their dogs, this beach is pet friendly. If you’re visiting the keys I would say that it’s not a must see beach, there are tons of better places in the keys.
