Very beautiful and varied hike. Start at the Visitors Center for a 0.6 mile climb. A bit strenuous at first. Once at the top the views are really nice. Keep going into the woods where the shade will make it more comfortable. Keep going in a loop. If you take the Ambassador’s House loop, your hike will be up to 5.5 miles. There’s a creek at the bottom where doggies can freshen up. Beware of TICKS. You WILL get a couple for sure in the tall grass. Protect your dog from them.

Good Calm place to enjoy nature. We did Piedmont Overlook Trail. Good views. There were ticks in surrounding vegetation. But I would recommend this trail.
Amazing view of the Crooked Run Valley from the beautiful Sky Meadows State Park! The trail up to the overlook is a quick 0.6 mile trail which offers a little bit of a challenging hike going up, but the view is totally worth it! If you are looking for a great place to see the sunrise on New Year's day, Piedmont Overlook is your place!
The most beautiful view of the rolling Peidmont hills of Virginia I have ever seen, and I have been on a lot of hikes. Simply Amazing.
Great hike up the hill to a beautiful view. Tip - walk further down the path before heading up and you'll follow the un\. You'll have the company of the sight and sound of the stream and fewer fellow hikers.
