Stop. Breathe. Have a look at the 12x18 Straus Home Ranch poster in the shop. It's absolutely brilliant. Well designed, colors just right, thick paper...this one draws you in and takes you there. Makes me happy that I gave this as a gift to me.

It was my dream to bring people together at the Straus Home Ranch since I had fallen in love with all the lush greenery surrounding the home, its view of Tomales Bay, and the historic charm of the house itself. My collaborator and I chose the Ranch as our destination for the weekend retreat we'd designed for professional women to recharge their creativity. We couldn't have imagined a more ideal location for this kind of personal renewal and communal gathering. It truly felt like an escape into nature, away from the noise and grind of the city. The renovations Michael and Vivien have made to the property are looking lovely and the glimpses of their family history throughout add such a beautiful, human touch. The two of them are wonderful as well and are so personable and easy to coordinate with.

Unfortunately, we were unable to hold our Spring 2020 wedding as scheduled at Straus due to COVID. However, our impression of Michael, Vivien, and the property itself was so positive that we feel compelled to share our thoughts. The farm is beautiful in an unmanicured and informal way befitting the Western Marin Coast. It retains the authenticity of a working farm. The ways in which the property has been modernized to accommodate large events are subtle and do not detract from its historicity. We worked mainly with Vivien and found her to be warm, straightforward, and professional. Her communication could not have been more prompt and helpful

We booked Straus Home Ranch for our July 2019 wedding and it was more amazing than we could ever have imagined. We booked it on the spot after visiting the property for the first time- even though we know there would be logistical challenges with hosting a 130-person wedding out in West Marin with spotty cell service and limited lodging options. But we fell in love with the property, with the Straus family, and getting married on Tomales Bay was incredibly special to us. The grounds are gorgeous, you can see the water from most places on the property. We loved that we could do all the weekend festivities in one place- the rehearsal dinner on the lawn, the wedding in the pasture overlooking the water, the reception in the beautiful remodeled barn, and the brunch the next day back on the lawn. The farmhouse was a comfortable and cozy place to stay. Our guests loved the venue, and we felt right at home there. It is a little more work than a traditional wedding venue, as you need to bring in everything for the wedding including rentals and food. But, I gotta say it was more than worth it. The Straus family was incredible to work with, and just the kindest people you will ever meet. We loved the cows, the organic soft serve ice cream, and all the other little touches that made it special. The Straus family was so helpful, so responsive, and genuinely warm. Thank you Michael and Vivien for a wedding weekend that far exceeded even our highest expectations!
