Sad place to live, RA's on my floor were terrible, I moved out early partly because of them.
like
I lived there in the early 70's and my youngest son is there now.
Best custom make your own burger, pizza set up as while as great staff of workers and atmosphere
Markley opened in '66 as the first co-ed dorm on the UM campus. Originally, one side of the H-shaped building was for women and the other for men. Now, they have alternating floors. Little has changed, though there is now a handicapped elevator. There are common areas and, on the lower level, music practice rooms. The Arboretum is located at the end of the block, and the UM Hospital is a block away. It's a convenient location and, after 50 years, still an inviting place to live as you start school.
good social aspect, still kinda like living in a brick box
I do not have a personal experience here but a relative stays here. It's close to downtown area and the University. Parking is limited , easy access.
Absolutely nasty and awful Avoid if possible
The rooms are pretty small and there is no air conditioning. The dorm is not visually appealing. The lounges and study spaces are very small or basic when compared to some of the other residence halls on campus. The location is as far north as it gets for central campus residence halls. The dining hall is also pretty bad, serving very little variety, unless pizza and burgers are your thing. The main thing going for this dorm is the social atmosphere. It's full of freshmen, so you'll make a lot of friends.
