All acupuncturists are not created equal. This is what I tell my friends looking to try it. In the past 14 years I have worked with 5 different practitioners and only 2 have been helpful. Joe is one of the wonderful. Different people respond to different methods. If you are looking for a practitioner who can help you find a effective therapeutic level while remaining within your pain/discomfort envelope Joe is the person to see. Who can guide you through a new or potentially anxiety producing process then I would go with Joe. He listens, educates, cares, and works collaboratively with you to achieve optimal results. He is respectful. Also very willing to learn about medical diagnoses that he is not familiar with. Although I wish I could see him more often, the two hours I spend each month are my favorite two hours. The atmosphere is peaceful, relaxed, and soothing. I’ve done all different types of treatments here including Acupuncture, Cupping, Moxibustion (nope, I’d never heard of it either), Infra-Red Heat therapy (I love that lamp ), Gua sha, and TuiNa. Each treatment or combination of treatments is chosen based on my needs on that day. Despite being at high risk of contracting Covid 19, due to a weakened immune system, I have never been concerned about going to my sessions. Everything is cleaned and sterilized between clients, and all staff wear facial coverings. A couple of conditions I found Joe’s treatments highly effective for are: Interstitial Cystitis Pain, Increased blood flow relating to POTS (Postural Orthostatic T Syndrome), anxiety, pain relief, muscle tension and contracture relief, TMJD (transmandibular joint dysfunction) and more.
From the moment you walk through the door, you get a sense of healing presence. There are many skilled acupuncturists, though few are masters. One day I had so much pain I walked in limping and bent over like a question mark..... But Joe had me walking out like an exclamation point! That takes mastery. Joe has also been instrumental in helping to keep my stage four liver damage from progressing. I am doing so well that my liver specialist Released me from her care. A few days before that visit, Joe Told me my liver was relaxing and I was getting better. I really can’t say enough about how Joe not only gives you what you came for, which is pain relief (For me); But he also gives you wisdom, commitment to his art, and a burning desire to make you well, whatever it takes. This is not cookie-cutter acupuncture. Each time is unique and effective. The office is super clean, ambience is a 10, Stephanie at the front desk is a bubbly pleasure! Please see him. You both deserve it.
