Great 'traditional' radiator shop. You can bring your vehicle there for them to work on it or you can bring them just the radiator. I pulled my 10 year old all-brass radiator myself and dropped it off with them around 10 AM. It was needing the top tank seam and filler fitting resoldered. When it was apart they found that the core tubes needed to be reamed ( odded\). It was ready by 3 p.m.. It's now working as good as new for less than half the price of a new one. Great family-like service and atmosphere. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable and skilled in their work . Can't wait to give them another radiator.
This is the first review I have ever written, for anything. Hovis radiator shop in Charlotte NC went above and beyond for me. I was in Charlotte from Atlanta, GA working. Nearly 300 miles from home, my chevy van began leaking an awful reddish oily mix of oil and coolant. I popped the radiator cap to take a look and discovered that red sludge inside the radiator . I had my wife track down a radiator shop in the area. Well she found Hovis, and off I went. My van limped in to their shop ( which was clean an organized ). I was going to have them just flush out the system , and then cross my fingers and attempt to drive home to Atlanta. I did not even consider having the van repaired because I did not have the time or money to wait for parts to be ordered , get a hotel, and rent a car. Well Hovis was able to diagnose the problem (which indeed was a radiator failure), replace the radiator, flush the whole system, and GET ME HOME to Atlanta! All in an AFTERNOON. They did not know me from joe shmo off the street; but my problem became their problem, and they fixed it in an unreasonable time-line. My van would have been in a shop for days had I been in Atlanta. I have no doubt about that. My van arrived at 3 in the afternoon. I was home in Atlanta that evening. They saved me tons of money, and got me home to my family. I love Hovis Radiator Co Brian Sansone
Friendly,fast, reaonable. As I am new in town I didnt know where to go when my radiator cracked. When I stopped to get a quote they worked me in and was out in about 90 mins. So happy as I was leaving for out of town in 2 days and was worried I might have to rent a car.
