This company cannot be trusted to handle personal identifiable information (PII). My employer hired SafeGuard to conduct a background check on me (which they do for all employees). Because a previous employer insisted that I provide a wet signature, SafeGuard was provided with a document with all of my PII (SSN, passport, birthday, etc.), which I hand-signed. I requested a copy of my background check from SafeGuard, and SafeGuard sent it to me via email alongside the document with my PII. When I called to complain that SafeGuard was sending my PII over an unsecured network, they denied even having access to the document, and said that they did not send it to me over an unsecured network. This was a bogus denial. They basically told me that I never received an email, but while they said that, I was looking at that same email. They should have just admitted to the mistake and ensured me that my information would be protected, but instead, they lost all credibility. They should not be trusted with anyone's PII.
