Safe and convenient located in McAllen downtown. Taxis outside available. Connected to the Metro (bus) system right there. Spacious inside.

I lived in the RGV for 7 years and it is always been difficult to deal with anyone at the Central Station in McAllen Texas. Weather is picking someone up buying a ticket or sending someone off.

Sometimes Greyhound is the only means to travel when your from south texas, not too many companies to choose from to take you from A to B. Sadly I really hate using them, and almost forced to, as Megabus or Tornado etc do not make frequent routes like Greyhound from the Valley to all the major cities. My story is on 11/02/19 @ 12:15 to 04:30 route, the bus from Mcallen TX to San Antonio TX literally BROKE down twice in route with around 20 passengers. Mostly Elderly people on board. First , the bus broke in Permont TX when it had stopped to pick up more passengers. The driver turned the bus off to load passengers and packages and the bus did not want to turn on back on. The engine was not responding. The driver did call someone but help but help never came, we were stranded over 45 mins in the small town of Permont, TX on the way to SA. Later by miracle, the engine initiated, as the driver kept trying and trying to turn the key forward, okay. But near Alice TX, as the driver was driving, it turned off by itself again and it slowly was slowing down to a speed of 10 mph, the bus would not go any faster. The bus driver had to turn back to the closest gas station for safely since there is nothing in Alice, just pitch darkness, driving 10-15 mph the whole the way back. From there we were stranded again. I personally was fed up and had to call someone from San Antonio to come pick me up in Alice because this rate, the bus was not in good condition and unsafe to be on. Whether it turned on or not the 2nd time, im not sure, my ride came, but the closets bus station was 2 hrs away, even if they send another bus for help, the passengers waited an extra 2 hrs, total of 3 hrs off track. Greyhound like I said is not the best company to choose from but that is what we have servicing our citizens in the valley. Just fyi, these buses are probably not checked a regular basis. If Greyhound even has protocols to check them. :/

Had a Very bad experience with this people. They don't have good communication skills. Expensive prices when buying over the phone. Online are super cheap and not headaches. They hanged up my call two times. I hope someone can hear this claim, might read my review and try to fix this problem. :(. Very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it.
