I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt; everyone I talked to said that they were shady and will screw you over. I wanted to believe that wasn’t true. I bought what they said was a hot water cast iron radiator in good and useable condition. After carrying it with my dad (almost breaking our backs) into my house, I saw that it had cracked written on it and the crack in the cast iron was circled with a yellow marker. And then my contractor informed me that it wasn’t a hot water radiator, it was a steam one. So we carried back to the car and I called to return it to get reimbursed. So now I still need to get a radiator. On a positive note, I will say that the people who work here are very nice and knowledgeable. But one should never sell a item that is broken, that’s just wrong and shady. That’s not good business, so I will not be returning because what was told to me about this business came true. They are shady and will screw you just to make money.

Had a surprising let down when I visited this place. Very dirty and disorganized lay out. Dust covered items on the shelves. Very little furniture and very expensive. If you are looking for door knobs, light globes or handles, then this place may work for you. Did enjoy the statue out front.

Lousy work on a piece of curved glass. More bubbles than a bottle of soda and they try to pass it off as \that's how it's supposed to be\. When I asked them to make it right, they all ran to the office area and wouldn't come out. Since I had already given them a check, they kept the check and cashed it -- despite knowing I was 100% unsatisfied. No honor, no integrity, no quality. I sent the piece off to Curved Glass Creations in Florida and the result was impeccable -- no bubbles whatsoever. At least there is somewhere in the antique and curved glass world that takes pride in their work.

My experience with Governor's goes back to 1988... my interior design teachers would tell us how blessed we were to have a company like theirs virtually in our backyard, because designers & architects would come to them from up & down the East Coast. I have used them on multiple The Consulting Arts projects through the years--some for inspiration, and some that have gone on to fruition. 5 stars for quality, kindness of staff, beauty, uniqueness--and quantity.

I’ve been going there since the 70’s . Always my go to place for my treasures!! Great for my one of a kind special pieces. It’s an adventure you never know what you’ll find. They have also repurposed furniture pieces for me and restored an old enamel sink from the 30’s. Beautiful job! Fun staff to work with too!! Try it... A one of a kind great experience!
